YOUTH RED CROSS (YRC)
The Red Cross is non-political International humanitarian organization devoted to the service of mankind. In India, the Red Cross society was established by an act of the Indian legislature in 1920 with the three objectives of the improvement of health, prevention of disease and mitigation of suffering.
The Youth Red Cross is one of the most active section of this society. It gives opportunity to lakhs of students all over India to be associated with the activities like building up the international fraternity of the youth, thus promoting the international friendliness, understanding and the cooperation.
VISION
Each generation passes on the torch of development to the next. Hence it becomes the challenge for the present generation to groom the future of tomorrow and that is the 'Youth'. The Indian Red Cross which has in its fraternity 10 million Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Junior Red Cross (JRC) members keeps on organizing various programmes and activities for the youth.
MISSION
The Indian Red Cross is to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized and even prevented and thus contribute to creating more congenial climate for peace.
- Informing youth members and others the role and the responsibilities of the Red Cross and encourage them to contribute
- An awareness on the care of their own health and that of others
- The understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern, to fulfill the same
- To enable the growth and development of a spirit of service and sense of duty with dedication and devotion in the minds of youth

OBJECTIVES OF YRC:
- To conduct Rally's, Camps, Orientation programmes to newly admitted students about YRC, Social and Health awareness programmes.
- To encourage the students to extend their humanitarian services to the society.
- To develop leadership quality among the students.
- To inculcate in the youth of our country.
- To understand and acceptance of civic and human responsibilities.
- To offer first aid training to all the YRC volunteers.
- To promote voluntary blood donation among the youth.
- To counsel the students regarding the various preventives for their proper health and importance of blood donation.
- To foster better friendly relationship without any discrimination.
- To persuade the cluster of people to service through nurturing and edification.
- To enhance the technological prop up in the programmes, fund raisers, detection of materials and human resources.
ACTIVITIES/EVENTS OF YRC
To conduct/organize camps, campaigns, rallies, training, workshops, seminars, exhibitions, tours/trips, extension lectures of volunteers regarding:
- YRC Orientation Programme
- Promotion of Health and Hygiene, Social Welfare, Protection of Environment and Disaster Preparedness etc.;
- Blood Donation camp
- First Aid and Minimization/Prevention of Human Suffering;
- Awareness of HIV and AIDS;
- Inculcation of Healthy Living Habits;
- Awareness of Road Safety and Traffic Sense;
- Promotion of National and International Friendship and Understanding;
- Aware people about role and responsibilities of Red Cross and encourage them to contribute for the same;

BLOOD DONATION CAMP
On August 12, 2022, YRC students from Adhiyamaan College of Engineering (Autonomous), Hosur, took part in the YRC's blood donation camp and donated 100 units of blood to the Government Hospital, Hosur. |
COVID-19 VACCINE DRIVE
Adhiyamaan College of Engineering (Autonomous), Hosur, took part in the COVID-19 Vaccine Drive organized by the college. Dr. G. Ranganath, Principal, Adhiyamaan College of Engineering (Autonomous), Hosur, monitored the event and also instructed all to get vaccinated and prevent the spread of the deadly pandemic COVID-19. |
